Writing Samples

Each of the written articles featured on this page began as an idea I pitched to an editorial team at IUP. After I was given the green light to research and write the piece, I worked with the photographer to capture the best visual images for the story. As a media and public relations professional, my writing adapts to the need of the client or the style of story that is requested. I write traditional news/press releases, in-depth question and answer pieces, photo essays, narratives and just about any other written form you can imagine. I have experience writing in AP and Chicago styles.

This is an example of one of several in-depth question and answer pieces I did for IUP. The university wanted professors' own words to be the focus. I interviewed professor Abigail Adams twice and worked with her to capture her voice accurately and concisely for this piece about police training and her partnership with Indiana Borough Police.

DOING MORE WITH LESS

This is a photo essay where I collaborated with the photographer to achieve the desired outcome. The client wanted to show potential donors the equipment they needed to outfit a simulation laboratory. The finished product was image-heavy and text-light.
